FAQ
When does API access launch?
The explorer and dashboard are live and free today. API access is rolling out in stages — blacklist screening first (early access now), the full intelligence API after. Waitlist members get access first and lock in launch pricing.
Do I ever have to talk to sales?
No. Every plan including Scale will be self-serve in the dashboard. Legal docs are click-through. This is a design principle, not a temporary state.
Why credits instead of per-request pricing?
Calls differ in cost by 100× (a label lookup vs a 5-hop trace). Credits price each call honestly — and you can query the price of anything before calling it.
Can my AI agent manage its own budget?
Yes — that is the point. Sub-keys will carry daily credit budgets, per-request caps and tool allowlists, with cost estimates and budget headers in every response.
Is the explorer still free?
Yes, free forever, no account required. Paid plans are for programmatic access.
How will payments be processed?
Card payments and invoices will be handled by Dodo Payments as Merchant of Record — taxes, VAT and receipts taken care of in 150+ countries. Prefer crypto? Every endpoint will also accept x402 pay-per-call in USDC.
Do I need an API key?
Yes — every API call is keyed, so you get audit trails, per-agent budgets and rate limits. Keys are free and instant. With x402, your first payment auto-provisions one bound to your wallet, so there is no signup step before you start.
Can I mix x402 and a subscription?
Yes. On a plan, calls draw from your credit balance; without one, calls are billed per request via x402 — the same key either way. If your pay-as-you-go spend exceeds a plan price, responses hint that upgrading would save you money.
